When I think back to the beginning, it all goes back to MiraCosta Community College. I remember walking into English class and sitting down in the back so I had plenty of space to keep to myself and play incognito like I do. Then Hannah walked in, I immediately recognized her as that gorgeous girl I saw passing by in high-school, years prior. I got the bright idea of moving a seat closer to her every day to see if she’d notice me. I was telling my friends and even my family about the girl from English class, but I needed to make a move soon. Before I could, Hannah stopped me after class one day and asked me for my number for “ studying purposes”. I texted her right when I got to my car 15 minutes after. I quickly made her my girlfriend, and the rest is history.

One of the things we enjoy most is being outside, especially in the Eastern Sierras, which has become a second home to us. In November of 2023, Connor took me on an incredible trip to Rubicon Bay, Lake Tahoe, where he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Rubicon Bay has been a special place to Connor and the Wagner family for decades. During the proposal, Connor shared that from the time he was 10 years old, he knew this was the place he’d ask his future wife to marry him. The mountains have always held a special place in my heart, but I look forward to the day we get to bring our kids to this specific dock and tell them about the day their Dad proposed to me.
